OUR COMMITMENT
Our most significant contribution is in the chapters:
03.
Health and
wellbeing
Welysis plants produce enough sodium hypochlorite to provide millions of people with sustained access to drinking water.
Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being at all ages is essential for sustainable development. In many countries, this involves reducing mortality and endemic diseases, including those transmitted through the consumption of contaminated water (target 3.3). To achieve this goal, countries need to work, among other things, on regular and sufficient supplies of safe drinking water for all people, especially in rural areas with little access to resources
06.
Clean water and
sanitation
07.
Ensure access to affordable, secure, sustainable, and modern energy
Renewable energies can reach more than 90% of the total energy consumed. Through turbines, solar energy and hydrogen fuel cells.
This goal focuses especially on improvements in access to clean and safe cooking fuels and technologies for 3 billion people, to expand the use of renewable energy beyond the electricity sector, and to increase electrification in sub-Saharan Africa.
Our electrolysis plants also adhere to this goal, as they are energy-efficient.
08.
Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all
09.
Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation
Welysis maintains a sustained investment in R+D+I in order to improve the efficiency of its processes. We also implement integrated management systems and holds several ISO certifications.
The least developed countries need to accelerate the development of their manufacturing sectors if they are to achieve the 2030 target and increase investment in scientific research and innovation. Our electrolysis plants provide a local supply of an essential product for many sectors, both for drinking water purification and industrial production, thereby contributing to the creation of a stable and self-sufficient local industrial fabric.
11.
Sustainable cities and communities
The company’s projects are originally designed with the objective of minimizing CO2 emissions by producing locally instead of importing.
Cities and metropolitan areas are hubs of economic growth, contributing around 60% of global GDP. However, they also account for around 70% of global carbon emissions and more than 60% of resource use.
12.
Responsible production and
consumption
The technologies and processes at Welysis plants are energy-efficient, focused on human safety and environmentally neutral in terms of effluents and emissions. In addition, innovations aimed at reducing Welysis’ carbon footprint need to be implemented quickly.
The economic and social progress achieved over the last century has been accompanied by environmental degradation that is endangering the very systems on which our future development (and indeed, our survival) depends. With a local production industry, the use of resources for production is minimized, thus reducing the impact on the environment. In addition, our plants are equipped with energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
17.
Partnerships to achieve
goals
Welysis collaborates with local and international associations such as AfWasa to promote the implementation of these technologies in African countries.
For a development agenda to be successfully delivered, inclusive partnerships (at global, regional, national, and local levels) need to be built on principles and values, as well as on a shared vision and goals that focus on people and the planet first. Welysis builds win-win relationships with public and private entities, businesses, and industries, to work together to create and consolidate a strong social and economic fabric.
