HCl is produced by the combustion of hydrogen gas with chlorine gas. Subsequently, the hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas is absorbed in water to produce hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 33% w/w.

Our specialisation in the production of hydrochloric acid, as in all other chlorine applications, derives from our experience in electrolysis. In the case of hydrochloric acid, we produce an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride. The process starts with the combustion of hydrogen gas with chlorine gas, followed by the absorption of hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas in water to produce hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 32% w/w. Our technology and stability in electrolysis continuously provides chlorine to enable the manufacture of HCl of a high purity and concentration, suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
How do we guarantee quality and safety in the production of hydrochloric acid?
The quality and safety of our hydrochloric acid production is guaranteed through strict quality controls and compliance with safety regulations. Our hydrochloric acid has a concentration of 32%, with maximum levels of 1 ppm of iron (Fe), 1 ppm of heavy metals (such as Pb), 5 ppm of free chlorine, 0.2 ppm of additional heavy metals, and 1 ppm of fluorine. These strict parameters ensure a high quality product, suitable for delicate uses in the chemical, electronic and pharmaceutical industries.
