PLANTS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HYDROCHLORIC ACID BY ELECTROLYSIS
Our electrolysis plants produce hydrochloric acid or HCI, an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride gas. It has various industrial and commercial applications.
HCl is manufactured by the combustion of hydrogen gas with chlorine gas. Subsequently, absorption of hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas in water occurs to produce hydrochloric acid at a concentration of 33% w/w.
It is used for many applications, especially in the chemical industry. Some of its best-known uses are:
- The production of chemicals, such as inorganic chlorides, plastics, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals.
- Regulating acidity in other chemical solutions.
- Cleaning agent and paint stripper.
- Removal of limestone scale from other minerals
- Treating and galvanizing metals in metallurgy.
- Descaling limescale and other soiling.
- In pipe unblocking
- pH regulation of water in swimming pools.
- In the cosmetics industry for the manufacture of dyes, pigments, and bleaches.
- In the food industry, for the production of gelatine, as it dissolves the mineral part of bones, and as a preservative in dairy and confectionery products.
- In the plastics industry for the production of packaging.
- In the acidification of oil wells.
